The Amazing Spider-Man (Not) Reboot...
Well this makes me feel better about the new Spider-Man movies. It’s not that I don’t like reboots or fresh take at a well known series. I’m a huge fan of the new Batman series - directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale - and where they’ve taken the Batman character.
But what turned me off to the idea of a Spider-Man reboot was that it was so soon after the Tobey Maguire movies. To me, that just felt like a slap in the face to the cast and crew of the original trilogy. Like all of their work was for nothing and a big waste of time for all the fans. I guess I should mention that I really like the Tobey and Sam Raimi’s - Director- Spider-Man movies. In fact, I really enjoyed Spider-Man 3. I liked the idea of a hated superhero. Dark Knight perfected the idea even further.
But I digress. I have no clue what the new Spider-Man movies will be about. But I like the idea that they take place within the first trilogy timeline. Granted, the linked article does mention some plot holes linking Sam Raimi’s work to this (Not)Reboot, but like the article said, we’re gonna have to wait and see.
